With this mischievous grin, it’s hard to tell if he’s about to pounce on some unsuspecting “snack” or if he’s already partaken. It certainly was fun to paint this little guy . . . it was pretty hard not to smile back!

Loving the vibrant colours and overall happy feel of these paintings. This series has been percolating in my imagination for ages and I’m super pleased with how it has turned out.
It’s been so much fun to play with these happy, bright colours. For most of the paintings, the background was done with brushwork and the wildlife done with palette knife. The exceptions were “Here’s Looking at You Kid” (our mischievous little frog) and Elysian Dusk (welcoming lighthouse at dusk).
